It is common knowledge that the Japanese word ‘‘Kanban’’ means visual board. This is where the knowledge stops for most of us. We know and see Kanban as a visual tool that helps us visualise our work, workflow and probably just move our work items from ‘‘to do’’, ‘‘doing’’ and ‘‘done’’. Others see it as a tool that helps keep the team in a state of shared understanding of what is being done and what needs to be done. There is so much more to Kanban than just being a visual tool that keeps teams abreast with work items and workflow.
In this session, we will be introducing you to a whole new world of Kanban and how it greatly facilitates predictability of workflow. As we know being at some point customers of clients, the questions always on each of our minds whenever work is being done on our products or services are – ‘‘when will it be done’’? ‘‘How long will it take’’?
In this session, Itopa Sule and Grace Johnson will take you on a brief journey of the possibilities Kanban provides as regards predictability and keeping your clients happy through workflow predictability.
– Kanban is beyond a visual tool for collaboration
– Predictability with minimum uncertainty is one of the essence of Agile and Agility
– How to keep your clients and customers happy through predictability.
